About The Event
The Creative Chicago Reuse Exchange (CCRx) will distribute 5,000 Roy LIchtenstein Art Kits and new Scholastic books to Chicago teachers and cultural workers on Saturday November 23 from 10am to 4pm.
The “Art Kits” feature the famous Pop Artist Roy Lichtenstein and are specially designed for young artists, ages 8 to 18, with acrylic paint, brushes, colored pencils, “ben day” dot stencils, art paper and an activity book and softcover book about the artist. The Art Kits, valued at $35 each, were donated by See the Vision, Grab the Vision, a New York-based arts non-profit that has been sponsoring the Chicago Park District’s multi-year OUT OF SIGHT public program that promotes positivity, aspiration, and visualization to youth and teens. The Scholastic books are classroom sets in many subjects for young adult readers.
