Items CCRx Cannot Accept

 

It's hard to say "no thank you" to a donation.  But some things are not safe, or not what our patrons can use.  Here are some other resources to try if we can't take your items:

Items we cannot accept include:

• CRT and DLP TVs, or rear-projection flat-screen HDTVs

• Cribs or car seats

• Walkers or other products that do not meet the current safety standards of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, including recalled items

• Household chemical products (pesticides, paint, paint thinner, drain cleaner, oven cleaner, aerosols, and other environmentally-unfriendly waste products)

• Automotive hazardous (tires, lead-acid batteries, additives, gasoline, oils, antifreeze, etc.)

• Large appliances (refrigerators, freezers, stoves/ovens, washers/dryers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, furnaces, microwaves, trash compactors, water heaters, large console stereos, freon-based appliances, etc.)

• Personal care items (shampoo, conditioner, nail polish remover, shaving cream, hairspray, shavers, curling irons, etc.)

• Fragrance items

• Clothing (except costumes)

• Mattresses/box springs, including waterbed mattresses and frames

• Weapons (guns, bows, arrows, ammunition, hunting knives, etc.)

• Phthalates (soft plastics)

• Food

 

We recycle! Three-ring binders and hanging file folders generally are not in demand, but we will accept and recycle them for a small additional fee.
