400 Lake Shore is a new residential destination rising where Lake Michigan meets the Chicago River that offers 127 affordable residences with the city’s first artist preference, providing priority wait list placement for eligible creatives.  Additional preferences include veterans and working families.


400 Lake Shore offers stable, affordable studio, one and two bedroom apartments that help Chicago’s creative community stay rooted and thrive in the city they help make vibrant. 


Brought to you by Related Midwest, 400 Lake Shore is designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill / David Childs, reimagining the iconic Chicago window as floor-to-ceiling glass bays that welcome unparalleled views and natural light.

400 Lake Shore will begin welcoming residents in Spring 2027 and offer a collection of contemporary apartment homes, including 127 affordable residences.


The wait list for studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments will open in the Summer of 2026.
