All Smiles at 2024 Teacher Supply Giveaway

It was all smiles at CCRx's annual Teachers Back2School Supply Giveaway!

Over 200 teachers got cartloads of materials, supplies and equipment for their classrooms -- all for free or close to it thanks to the donors, volunteers and team members at CCRx.

For three days, cartload after cartload of great things went out the door at the CCRx Warehouse, and into the cars of teachers from across Chicagoland for their classrooms! Books, Bags, Yarn, Paper, Binders, and tons more. And All of it was kept OUT of the Landfill!

The CCRx Team and Volunteers were ready when the teachers lined up on Friday, Saturday and Sunday...

And we were thrilled when Vi Nguyen from Channel 5 came to call!

Teachers got all sorts of things...

Including some really special items... really BIG Books, colorful posters and decor, a handmade Halloween Kimono, a lion costume and a whole lot of battery-powered candles!

Jenn interviewed several teachers and you can see quick reels here, and here, here and here, and here and here. We learned that many teachers start the year in an empty classroom with no budget. They have to find things on their own -- decor, projects, tools, inspiration. That's where CCRx + creative reuse makes a BIG difference!!

By Sunday afternoon we were exhausted but pleased. Heartfelt thanks to our donors, our volunteers ...
