The Creative Chicago Reuse Exchange (CCRx) is looking for a dynamic, experienced marketing + administrative Team Member to help spread the word about our inventory, events + creative reuse ethos! CCRx is a nonprofit organization that provides donated surplus materials, supplies and equipment to Chicago teachers, nonprofits, arts + community groups. We foster creativity and sustainability through creative reuse programs, products and events. We believe that trash is just a failure of imagination!
We are looking for help spreading the word about creative reuse, our programs (Show + Tell Workshops, The Creativity Bus), items available for sale on our online + warehouse inventory, special events like Back2School Xtravaganza, Giveaways, Holiday markets, etc.
We use social media + email marketing (Meta + Wix, primarily), plus print materials and other means. Some aspects of our existing marketing are well-established (our enews, for example) and other aspects need a boost from a visionary, energetic leader who is skilled with communicating on a variety of platforms in a variety of media (video, image) to a variety of audiences. Facebook, Instagram (Meta) are essential and other platforms welcome too. We are especially interested in reaching Chicago teachers, and individuals / businesses / organizations on Chicago's SW side.
We are also looking for help managing administrative tasks - responding to emails, managing volunteers, managing programs and events (including publicity - press release, event posts, flyers, etc.) and (possibly) creating new ones too!
You'll work sometimes at our warehouse at 2124 W. 82nd Place, sometimes at our office at the CTU Center, 1901 W. Carroll Street, and also remotely and via zoom meetings.
This is a Contractor position running about 12 – 24 hours/week (additional hours, evenings, and special events will come up.) Pay starts at $15/hour + generous material allowance and will be open for increase with successful growth in the position. No other benefits currently available.
