Call for Caps!

Writer: Barbara K.Barbara K.

We need your bottle caps!

CCRx mourned the passing of Chicago artist and environmental activist Mary Ellen Croteau, but we were grateful when her partner donated her treasure trove of thousands of multi-hued plastic bottle caps, all sorted by color. For the past 2 years, teachers and artists have helped themselves to this bounty, but now we are running low!

So, a Call for Caps! Collect your clean, colorful plastic bottle caps -- all sizes!

Gather them up, wash them with soap, please, then sort them by color (if you can) and bag them up.

Schedule a donation drop off at www.creativechirx.org/book-online.

We'll make them available -- for free! -- to teachers, artists, and community groups for their own art projects.

Read more about Mary Ellen and her artwork, and how you can make plastic bottle cap artwork here.

Thanks for keeping good things OUT of the landfill!
